Leadership Seminars

February 8th - 16th, 2009
27 participants, 40 apprentices, Ranch staff, and interns all melded together as one body of believers struggling to conform to the image of Jesus Christ for a tremendous week of SALT (Servant Attitude Leadership Training). Through a variety of great topics and classes, we wrestled out the gut-wrenching questions provoked in small groups as to how God’s Word plays out in real life struggles and victories. The participants learned godly character through classes and work times as the group helped keep the Ranch functioning by stoking boilers, feeding horses, splitting firewood, and cleaning bunkhouses. Throughout these times, we discussed difficulties and failures and a myriad of other questions as they grappled with the living out of God’s truths. We had several precious times for them to share their new commitments and encourage each other to a deeper walk and deeper level of devotion to Jesus Christ.

At the end of S.A.L.T., we were joined by 60 plus teens for our teen conference. This was a great opportunity for the participants of SALT to put into action, and share with the teens coming in, what God had been teaching them throughout the week. The messages for the weekend challenged the teens to make a commitment to walk in the narrow way in following after Christ and be steadfast in that commitment to Him. It was a blessing to be a part of these two events and the tremendous opportunity for strengthening and encouragement.

Testimonies from S.A.L.T.
“I faced issues I’ve put off again and again and renewed my desire to remain disciplined... to keep running the race past all of the discouragements.”

“I’m learning to except the person God has made me to be. I also really enjoyed and have been encouraged by the sharing time”

“It has really helped me to find out where I’m at in my life and helping me get back into devotions.”

“I was able to get more direct answers and discuss questions which I have had for a while.”

“It was encouraging to talk with people during small groups and realize we all are going through the same things.”

The schedule for this week will give participants age 13 - 18 the opportunity to train alongside the students of Camp Apprentice Ministry Program at Miracle Mountain Ranch. They will be taught in the spiritual, relational, mental, and physical aspects of what it means to build God-honoring relationships and Christ-like character. Not only will you have time to draw closer to God through your personal devotions but also in morning wisdom searches, classes, and especially during the group Bible study projects with resident staff and apprentices. Don’t over look the hands on work time, where you will have occasion to examine your attitudes, actions, and even more, your reactions, to see if you are really living what you think you believe.

You will have time to learn and participate in one of the following areas of skill development that you choose from.

  • Horses: (riding skills, horse handling, teachable moments, ministry opportunities and other things as they arise.)
  • Culinary Skills (Food prep, cooking, baking, teachable moments, among other things happening in that area.)
  • Maintenance/Construction (work on current projects which may include plumbing or electrical work, machinery repair, sheet rock, or other unexpected opportunities.)
Cost: (includes MMR Teen Conference) $
