Camp Apprenticeship Ministry Program Policies:

Apprentice Responsibility

I. Apprentice responsibility to Advisors

A. MEMORIZATION: Each Apprentice is responsible for a minimum of 2 verses per week from October to May (70 verses). All students will collectively memorize James 1 during Stage 1. Passages selected for memorization should be appropriate to personal need and approved by advisor.
B. DISCIPLINES CHART: Each apprentice is to outline projected goals at the beginning of each month and record on chart. A completed report is to be handed to advisor within three days of the close of the month. Explanations for unreached goals are to be included.
C. JOURNALS: Each apprentice will ultimately journal in three areas:

1. Life Journal: This journal is to encourage association of life experiences to scripture. It should be recorded in regularly and include: awareness of need, confession of sin, noteworthy circumstances, special pressures, prayer concerns and answers, insights from scripture, understanding acquired.
2. Principle Journal: Recordings should include understanding and insights gained in regards to each of the eight principles. Each principle is to be personalized.
3. Character Journal: Recordings should include understanding and insights gained in regards to each of the eight characters. Each character is to be personalized. *Sources will include AM Wisdom Searches, personal reading and meditation.

D. PROJECTS: Each apprentice is responsible to meet project deadlines as outlined to avoid significant consequences.
E. CORRESPONDENCE: Apprentices are expected to communicate in writing with their parents and/or sponsors at least once per month. The tone of this letter should enable them to rejoice in God’s work in your life and know how to pray more effectively. The purpose is to strengthen natural bonds of accountability. It is often easier to share these things in a letter than in person.
F. EVALUATIONS: Each apprentice is to use the day of Fasting and Prayer to examine themselves in regards to the principles and character emphasized that month in accordance with guidelines of self-examination. This evaluation should be reviewed with the advisor the following Tuesday morning.

FAILURE TO ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR UP-TO-DATE MONTHLY REPORTS WILL RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION AND POSSIBLY DISMISAL.


II. Apprentice responsibility concerning the schedule:

A. Apprentices are expected to participate in the schedule as outlined. Appeals may be granted for exceptions, provided they are considered in advance.
B. Apprentices are expected to participate in weekly PM Bible Studies.
C. Participation in retreats is required as mandated by Director of Camping.
